Exciting News! New Scratch Masters Format – 12 Qualifiers per Division: In celebration of our 10th Anniversary of PSDIC we are offering an all new Scratch Masters format. We will now have 12 qualifiers per Division, yes that’s correct, four (4) additional bowlers per division will now qualify for the Sunday rolloffs. The twelve (12) qualifiers in ALL divisions will bowl six (6) games across three (3) pairs of lanes to determine the top four (4) qualifiers. After each game is completed, bonus pins will be assigned as follows: 30-pin bonus for highest game, 20-pin bonus for 2nd highest game and a 10-pin bonus for the 3rd highest game. What hasn’t changed is the top four (4) qualifiers after the six (6) games will bowl a pro-style stepladder finals match play roll-off. We hope you will consider entering the Scratch Masters event this year with more opportunities to qualify for Sunday bowling.
Other optional events this year will include brackets, 3 of 9 (that’s the best single high handicap game from singles, doubles and team), optional scratch, mega-brackets, and the women’s optional. The host hotel for this year’s tournament is again the beautiful Desert Princess Resort in Cathedral City, CA. It’s located just 2.5 miles straight (or gaily forward), north of the bowling center, on Landau Boulevard. It has spectacular views of Mount San Jacinto and the adjacent mountain range. The resort’s amenities include: valet parking, in-room wireless high speed internet access, coffee, refrigerator, shuttle service to/from Palm Springs International Airport, downtown Palm Springs shuttle service drop-off and admittance to their fitness room.
So again, plan on coming to Palm Springs on Thursday to kick off a great weekend of fun and relaxation. Take a ride on the world famous Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, or a leisure stroll down either Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs, or El Paseo in Palm Desert. Or just lie by the pool and soak up some rays. Or try out some of our fabulous restaurants and bars.
On behalf of the PSDIC committee, we look forward to seeing you in October!
